Landlord helps Peterborough residents to save hundreds on energy bills - 1 Mar 17
Nearly 140 residents have saved a combined total of almost £18k by switching their energy provider thanks to a joint partnership between Peterborough City Council and their landlord, Axiom Housing Association.
Axiom signed up to the Peterborough Energy scheme 18 months ago to provide its city residents with independent advice from a Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT) energy advisor.
The association initially wrote to 1,000 of its tenants to offer them a free visit and energy assessment via a PECT trained advisor.
A total of 139 householders took up the offer and between them have since saved £17,970 by switching to Peterborough Energy.
Paul Veni, Axiom’s Asset Manager said: “Working together with Peterborough Energy has enabled us to make an incredible positive difference to the lives of Axiom residents.
“We have worked hard with PECT to ensure residents truly understand the real and positive benefits of switching to Peterborough Energy. We hope by sharing this success story we will inspire others to consider switching. “
Out of the 139 residents, three switched their gas supplier, 16 changed electric providers and 120 moved to Peterborough Energy for both gas and electric. The highest single saving made by a resident was £383.
Axiom will shortly issue a second mailshot to those residents who have yet to accept a visit or switch providers. They will also be reminding residents who have already switched that if they refer a friend, who also switches, they’ll receive a £20 Amazon gift card.
