Axiom’s Board is responsible for ensuring good governance and has adopted the National Housing Federation’s Codes of Excellence in Governance and in Standards of Conduct.governance icon

The Board regularly checks how we are performing both financially and according to our values. It’s also responsible for safeguarding and growing the association. It considers policies and procedures and ensures that risks are well managed. 

The Board meets four times a year and is supported by five committees covering finance/audit, care/support, development/assets, governance and residents' services.

We produce a summary of the Board’s compliance against the governance codes annually as part of our corporate annual report, value for money and financial statements.

Board recruitment
It’s important to us that our Board reflects a good mix of skills and experience. Recruitment typically takes place as a result of succession plans, vacancies or when we need to attract people with specific skills.

Our recruitment process is open and transparent, based on merit and objective selection and assessment techniques. If you are interested in joining the Board please contact the Company Secretary. Tenant Board members are nominated annually via the Axiom residents' forum (ARF)

Friday 7 October 2016:  Axiom Housing Association is currently exploring an opportunity with Longhurst Group – one of the largest housing groups in the Midlands.  Both Longhurst Group and Axiom, share the same operational area in the East and combined have more than 21,000 homes. 

Our two organisations are also very aligned, with both sharing similar values and therefore are in the early stages of discussing whether a joined up approach could help us to further improve our services and provide additional homes at a lower cost.  We have worked together successfully for a number of years through the Blue Skies Consortium and believe working together more closely would be of mutual benefit.
